2022 Patient Advocacy Award

The HOPA Patient Advocacy Award recognizes a HOPA member who demonstrates leadership and collaboration while advocating for outstanding patient care.

Sarah Wheeler is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Medical Oncology/Malignant Hematology at the University of Florida (UF) Health Shands Hospital and the Clinical Coordinator of the UF Health Shands PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency. Dr. Wheeler received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UF College of Pharmacy and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at Emory University Hospital. Her areas of interest include the management of relapsed/refractory lymphomas, optimizing supportive care for both the patient and caregiver, and helping patients/caregivers navigate the whirlwind that is cancer with their identity and autonomy intact.
