2019 New Practitioner Award

The New Practitioner Award recognizes a member early in their career who has made a notable contribution to developing or supporting clinical hematology/oncology pharmacy services.

Megan May is a Clinical Oncology Pharmacy Specialists at Baptist Health Lexington’s Cancer Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center and a Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. In addition to direct patient care, Dr. May plays an active role in the education of pharmacy students and residents. She serves on multiple committees at Baptist Health Lexington, including the Cancer Committee and the Institutional Review Board. She has authored numerous articles, and presented research posters and presentations, both regionally and nationally.
