2022 HOPA Volunteer Award
The HOPA Volunteer Award recognizes the time, talent and energy of a HOPA member who contributes significant volunteer service to the organization through committee and/or task force contributions and representing HOPA at external events.
Mallika P. Patel is a Clinical Pharmacist at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. She joined the Duke Brain Tumor team in 2011 and through a collaborative practice agreement, she is able to focus her clinical practice on supportive care management in brain tumor patients. She is engaged in numerous research opportunities, as she partners with her clinician colleagues in prospective treatment and supportive care research. Mallika enjoys building lasting connections with colleagues through participation in HOPA. She has been an active participant on several HOPA committees since 2009, including the Education Committee, the Professional Development Committee, and the Membership Committee on which she has been able to serve in a leadership role. Most recently, she has been a dedicated member of the newly created Oral Chemotherapy Collaborative.
