2021 HOPA Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Technician Award

The Technician Award recognizes a technician who demonstrates excellence in his/her work and shows a commitment to hematology/oncology pharmacy practice in an organized health care setting.

Emily Zimdars is a Business Operations Specialist at M Health Fairview for the Ambulatory/Oncology Infusion Pharmacies in Minneapolis, MN.  Emily provides support and project management for four hospital and academic based outpatient infusion pharmacies/clinics, and an oncology infusion finance team.  She was involved in an international, interdisciplinary surface sampling study that assessed residual antineoplastic medication surface contamination within pharmacy and patient care areas, with a manuscript pending publication.  Emily has been with M Health Fairview for 5 years and has previous experience with compounding and preparing intravenous and injectable medications, as well as managing compounding pharmacy technicians.  She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Benedict and completed a post - baccalaureate Public Health Certificate at the University of Minnesota.
