Patrick J. Kiel, PharmD is a clinical pharmacy specialist at Indiana University (IU) Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy. Dr. Kiel completed his PGY1 residency at Rush University Medical Center and his PGY2 specialty residency in hematology/oncology at Indiana University Hospital. He has provided clinical services for the Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplant programs and is currently part of the Precision Genomic Program at the IU Simon Cancer Center. Dr. Kiel has been a director of the IU Health Oncology PGY2 Residency. He holds academic appointments at the IU School of Medicine and Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He is published in peer-reviewed journals, and his research interests include genomically guided therapy in patients with refractory metastatic cancer and novel targeted therapies. Dr. Kiel enthusiastically supports the mission of HOPA with a focus on promoting pharmacist-led research and direct patient care. He has been active for several years on the Research Committee and the Basic and Translational Science Committee.
