Amber Lawson, PharmD, BCOP serves as Hematology/Oncology Program Coordinator for Pharmacy Services at UK HealthCare. She leads a variety of initiatives pertaining to formulary management, oncology research, quality improvement, affiliate education, and other cancer center projects involving hematology/oncology pharmacy support. She has also had the opportunity to lead and support hematology/oncology pharmacy teams as well as precept pharmacy student and resident learners over the course of her career and is an Associate Adjunct Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Dr. Lawson has been a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist and a member of HOPA since 2006 where she has served in a variety of task force and committee roles over the past 15 years.
Dr. Lawson earned her PharmD degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in Lexington, Kentucky. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at UK HealthCare with Dr. Kelly M. Smith, PharmD, FASHP, FCCP serving as program director followed by a PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at UK HealthCare under the direction of Dr. Val R. Adams, PharmD, FCCP, BCOP, FHOPA. She is appreciative for their mentorship and for the opportunity to continuously learn from and collaborate with colleagues.
